About Melbourne University RFC

Mebourne University Rugby Football Club is a well established club (since 1909) with strong support for new members, including beginners. We take our rugby seriously and we play to win, but we’re also here to have fun.

The club plays in the Victorian Premier Division. We field First, Second, Third, Fourth, Colts (U21) and “Gents” teams.

Our home ground in Parkville is centrally located and easily accessible from the university, the city and inner suburbs. We have fine club rooms with a bar, Foxtel and regular club house lunches.Map

The club has a strong coaching team that creates a learning environment suited to bringing the best out of new and emerging players. Coaches include Paul Webster (Head Coach), Wallabies Matt Cockbain, Dave Fiter, and Strenght & Conditioning Coach Stu Livingston.

Student members are eligible for the annual Australian University Games competition. Most past players would say this was the highlight of their rugby career.

During the summer the club runs a Touch Competition, for men and women on Wednesday evenings at the club’s home ground in Royal Park. There is also less formal pre-season touch on Wednesday nights during November and December at Royal Park.
